THE NUMBER of motorists who have won court battles against LBS Enforcement and are still waiting for compensation has risen by almost a third, the Echo can reveal.

LBS, based in Southend and Wickford, now has 26 outstanding county court judgments against it, totalling £17,517, some of which date back as far as April 2009.

In June, we reported how LBS owed almost £14,000 to 19 people who had won court judgments against it to claim their money back.

A judgment is made when people, in this case disgruntled motorists, try to get their money back from a company in the small claims court and the court rules in their favour.

LBS has faced a number of claims from drivers who say their cars have been unfairly clamped, or towed away, and made to pay fines of up to £900 to get them back.

But motorists who have won the judgments have been unable to get their money back.

Some have called bailiffs to try and get their money back, but failed because the company did not have the necessary assets in their name.

An LBS employee said in July they had not had time to go through all the cases against them and they were planning to appeal against them.
